For Come Up To My Room, Michelle Ivankovic and Dejan Kamenski have created a rolling room-space with glimpses of hidden colour that are combined with a flexible configuration to speak to the versatility of an every changing audience. The exaggerated proportion help soften the acoustics and control natural light.
Michelle and Dejan both studied at the Ontario College of Art & Design in the industrial design program. Together they collaborated on many successful design projects earning them scholarship awards in their final years.
After graduating from OCAD Michelle spent 2 years in fine craft wood working to create furniture design pieces by Petra De Mooy before landing a job with Umbra where she presently works. The contrast of these 2 experiences have created a unique collision of fine craft with mass market design sensibility.
Dejan spent the next 2 years a junior designer for Paradox Design, designing sporting equipment for snowboarding and hockey. After Paradox, Dejan ventured out and started Knod Studio in 2001. Dejan’s Studio is currently involved with designing, manufacturing and marketing low production items as well as working with other manufacturers and designers on new design proposals.
