Mariela De Felix, Virginia Fernandez & Shane Neill
Mariela De Felix, Virginia Fernandez and Shane Neill share a passion for the stories, traditions and popular imaginings deeply embedded in the city. They are in this way compelled to materialize the invisible, in both their research and design, and in the areas of both architecture and public art. The project uses traditional methods to produce 15,000 rosary beads from rose petals that fill a small exhibit room. The process is itself ceremonial: it requires six days of human labour to complete a rosary, 50 beads.
