Playfully subverting the fetishization and mythologization of hair, Hair Piece hovers above the viewer, just barely within reach, inviting the curious to make contact with its silky curls . Entirely synthetic and detached from its intended purpose, this hair belongs to no body, yet the tactile sensation of a stray strand brushing across one’s skin elicits an instant physical response. The soft nebulous form of the oversized hairball is at once familiar and unsettling, intimate and alien.
