Paper City is a geometric translation of the development of Toronto. Where six units interconnect to make a single shape. Their union representative of the six townships that formed this dynamic city. These paper forms multiply like a growing populace. The densification creates an origamic sculpture. Its sweeping gesture invites the spectator to come closer, to be hypnotized and enveloped. The piece ultimately becomes a world within a world. A paper figure housed inside the solid walls of the Gladstone Hotel, and abstractly a Paper City constructed within Toronto, the magnetic and captivating place it represents.
